When Lisa and Stephen look into each other’s eyes you are left in no doubt that this is a very special love. A few moments in their company and you realise that they are two very generous and lovely people.
Their life hasn’t always been plain sailing; quite the opposite, but the challenges they have faced have just brought them closer together. In these moments they realised that they would never be alone again. Getting married was the formality.
The couple invited their closest family and friends to celebrate their wedding. The legal ceremony was at Brecon Registry Office with the festivities at the couple’s home.
When we arrived Lisa was having her make-up expertly applied by the talented Jess Mac of Braid and Blush (www.facebook.com/braidandblush/ ). We love it when Jess makes up our brides as she enhances their beauty naturally.
Lisa had chosen a beautiful tea length dress in a floral cut out fabric; a simple dress with an intricate design from John Lewis. Her mum, Carol, helped her into it. Lisa finished her look with a pair of diamond earrings and a simple necklace. We knew that Stephen was going to melt when he saw her!
Meanwhile Stephen was fighting for space in a crowded house in order to get ready himself! A very proud Welshman, He had chosen a very dapper outfit; a Welsh kilt, shirt and bow tie. His cufflinks were Welsh dragons. This man knows how to dress to impress!
Lisa continued to have a stream of visitors; some wanting things (the downside of having a wedding at home), together with some special visitors including her father, Michael, and her lovely nephew and ring bearer, Jacob.
As the boys left for the registry office, we took the opportunity to get a few portraits of our beautiful bride. Lisa had butterflies at this point and just wanted to be with her Stephen.
At last it was the moment that Lisa and Stephen had been waiting months for; the moment they could make their lifelong promises to each other. The room was full of love as the couple exchanged their vows...
...and finally rings before signing the register.
Back at home the rain and wind was replaced with glorious sunshine and the garden party fit for royalty got underway. Lisa and Stephen had made sure that there was something for the guests of all ages. The children had a play corner and sweet trolley, whilst the grown ups had a selection of drinks from tea to bubbly (and some had both)!!
The children had been bridesmaids and paige boys and all had a special place in the day.
It was time to cut the cake that had been made by Lisa and her, now, mother-in-law Shelagh. This was to be dessert after the delicious hog roast and buffet.
There were two photographs that Lisa really wanted; a confetti shot...
...and a heart shot with all her guests.
At this point the weather does what it does best in Brecon; change!! The grey clouds rolled in and the Heavens opened and we mean opened! We sneaked our lovely newlyweds upstairs to the only quiet spot in the house for some photographs on their own.
Now this is a couple in love...
We wish them every happiness together. <3
