Sam and Rich met at University through Sam's love of dancing and Rich's love of American Football, which led them to cross paths at an event. Much texting took place over the Christmas holidays and friends and family knew something special was happening.
They are a very much in love and the little gifts, words and looks that were exchanged throughout the day leaves you in no doubt that they have found their soulmate in each other.
The couple had chosen Hyde Barn, Stow on the Wold as their wedding venue. This a purpose built wedding venue next to The Fosse Manor Hotel so provides accommodation as well as beautiful countryside vistas. The staff are incredibly helpful too!
Sam and her girlfriends had use of the bridal room, which is lovely and light and offers space for hair and make-up as well as a chilling zone on the plump sofas.
Whilst Sam was having her hair and make up done, her bridesmaids presented her with a box filled with cards from special people in her life. Each one was filled with loving words and it was fair to say that most of the eyes in the room were filled with tears!
Sam was amazingly relaxed; although someone who loves details and organisation she had done what she could and was determined to enjoy her day. She described herself as excited more than nervous. Her gorgeous bridesmaids helped her into her dress before her stepdad was brought into the room with his eyes closed for his first look. After which another make-up refresh was required!!
We wanted to capture the beautiful bride looking serene in the natural light from the windows. She looked simply stunning.
Meanwhile in the hotel next door Richard was getting prepped, a dab hand with a cut throat razor... ...and a steady hand. The groomsmen wore tweed waistcoats, yellow ties (Rich's was blue) and black trousers.
At last it was nearly time for the ceremony and both parties were ready; the gents and Rich's parents looking very dapper (and elegant!)...
... whilst the girls looked gorgeous in their dresses in various shades of blue. All of the flowers were created with love by Sam's grandma.
Even though the rain and wind had moved in, which meant that they could not have the ceremony outside, nothing could dampen their spirits. There were audible gasps as Sam entered a very full and warm ceremony room. The look between them as they saw each other for the first time was heart melting.
After a civil service, including two readings (and some one liners from Richard!), the couple were pronounced married. Just in time the rain stopped and the guests were able to spill outside into the gardens. The couple had decided to cut their cake straight after the ceremony which was a lovely touch and gave guests a nibble whilst the group photographs got underway...
...including a request shot which had us all laughing. :-)
We just about managed some couple shots before it was time for the meal... ...hopefully capturing the mixed nature of the weather - sun, cloud, sun, wind...
The guests entered a beautifully decorated room with lots of tasteful details. For anyone who knows Sam and her love of Pintrest this was no surprise! Name badges, lucky coins, quizzes and so much more could be found on the tables. After the speeches the guests were served a sumptuous three course meal.
The evening entertainment included a bouncy castle, outdoor games, live music (including friends), photo frames and a disco. There was much fun and laughter as everyone got into the spirit of the day. These guys know how the party... ...and make use of a balcony!
As the sun set we enjoyed taking a few last photographs in the dying light and the sky, at last, obliged us with some colour for our bride and groom.
We wish Sam and Richard the most wonderful life together. Sealed with a kiss.
